[slinkelist] Y2K ERROR!

Yeah, in the process of trying to fix a minor Y2K problem I caused a worse 
one.  I think it would have been better if I just left things alone 
:-)  I'll bet more bugs get introduced trying to fix Y2K problems than get 
solved.
