I've had the same issue with "missing discs" when I move them to my car,
then back to the house.  I also want them back in the same slot because I've
coded the slots with the sony "bank" information so that I can use the
player without CDJ if necessary (it's crazy having a $300 changer and a
$2,000 controller).

As a sort of quick access list I download the memos to the remote control
(CDP-CX300).  When I want to put a disc back in the changer, I search the
remote (very quick) for the title and it tells me the slot!
