I have run a 30' length on RCA patch cord type wire. This is a coaxial cable
with a braided
center conductor. Slink connection works well.

I have run a 35 ft twisted pair cable between my living room and family room
onto which I've soldered 1/8" jacks. I've then used 3 ft patch cords to
connect a Sony 200 disk CD changer to my slink unit via the 35 ft cable. All
has worked well. I'm not sure if I had to use twisted pair, but I can report
the slink connection has worked flawlessly when I did....
