Sounds like a Palm Pilot or Windows CE box may fit the bill. Of course,
you'll need to program the thing unless someone has already done that - but
it would be relatively inexpensive (get the cheapest model) and could be
cabled into a computer via it's cradle's RS-232, or, if it can be accessed,
the internal IR port.
Another possibility is the Take Control IR controller from Harmon Kardon
(http://www.harmankardon.com/). This is an ultra-programmable remote with
touch screen (and backlight) that perhaps could be used to relay IR commands
via the Slink-e up to your computer for processing and commands returned
back down (I haven't done this myself so forgive me if it's not a practical
solution). It also provides a means to simultaneously control all your
non-slink-e'd units.
Anyway, just a thought...

Subject: [slinkelist] cheap touchscreen options?
There was a post last week about an inexpensive touchscreen. I went to
www.touchscreens.com and even emailed them but they said their cheapest was
$900 not $160 as posted here.
Does anyone know an inexpesive way to bring CDJ control/interface into
something I can keep on my media room coffee table. I'm thinking smaller
than a laptop, touchscreen capable, and backlit.
