[slinkelist] Long S-Link Cables?

Have you considered having the slinke close to the player and then using
CAT-5 from computer to slinke? A lot of people on the list have had this
work quite well (myself included).

Anyone have experience/advice on long (>50') s-link cables?

GOAL: Connect a Sony MiniDisc player S-Link to the Nirvis S-Link Port.

I bought a 50' 1/8" Mono Male to 1/8" Mono Male cable. It doesn't work.

Will S-Link work over this distance?
