Go to http://download.cnet.com/downloads and select WindowsCE. Then do a
search on "remote control".
OmniRemote by http://www.pacificneotek.com is designed for the PalmIII-PalmV
handhelds. However, none of which are designed like the Pronto with the CCF
file merging capabilities. These apps simply turns the handhelds into a
glorified learning remote. The advantage is that they do have the
capability to create custom screens. I'm not sure about any of the Pocket
PC (Microsoft's new term for the latest version of WinCE) devices, but as
for the Palm handhelds, the internal Ir is too weak (2-7 feet range) and too
narrow (5 degree range) for remote control applications. However, Tech
Center Labs' (http://members.aol.com/talestuff/) Ir Blaster is designed to
be used with Palm handhelds and OmniRemote. Ir Blaster is an external Ir
attached to the hotsync port which quadruples the Ir range and width so that
it can be used for remote control applications.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if it's possible to send remote control ir signals via the
ir port on a pocket pc running WinCE 3? (i.e. turn one of the new pocket
pc's into a color pronto) :)
Thanks,
Neil
