In order to dcom to work you need to have NT server on the network (gee,
thanx bill g.)
Also with dcom you con control the slinke, but what about the MP3 do you
want to play the mp3's on the slinke pc(propably connected to the
stereo) or on the remote computer (paths!!!)

Use VNC, it's free & easy & good, it solves problems you heven't even
thought yet. 

I keep repeating myself, but once you try the nvc you understand why.
