Item of interest to those moving their pre-CD music collection to MP3 =
and/or CD=20

Following is excerpted from Dan Rosenbaum's column.

 http://www.winmag.com/columns/winletter/1999/newsletter.htm

A company called Sima recently introduced the I MIX -- a piece of home =
audio gear that will record analog and digital source material =
(including the radio) onto a hard drive, organize the music, create =
playlists, and either play it back through your stereo or download it =
into a MP3 player. Like RealJukebox, the I=20
MIX will record CDs faster than real time, and it claims a built-in =
database of 100,000 recording titles, so you won't have to input every =
last comma of every last song. by hand.

Depending on the model and the bit rate you select, the I MIX will hold =
over 11,000 tracks and 500 hours of music. It ships in the second =
quarter, and lists for $700 for the lower-end unit, and $900 for the =
higher-end.
