Maybe if Sony didn't keep the facts and features about S-link a secret,
it would have been more successful. Probably only one person in a
hundred (and that's being generous) could care less that there is an
S-link port on the back of their equipment.

Right now I have three players hooked to my Slinke... a PCX205 (which
speaks Control A1 only), a PCX225 (which speaks Control A1 II only)
and a PCX300 (which can speak either one). They all seem to have a
slightly different command structure, but there is zero documentation
available that I can find. Since there is only one .CDE file from
Nirvis
that is supposed to support all Sony CD players, I have functions that
will work on one and not the other, and is playing havoc with the
control
program I'm attempting to write. I have yet to figure out how to access

disks 201-300 in the PCX300 using the .CDE file available, and nobody
is talking.

I give Slinke (which I think is a really neat toy, by the way), S-Link
and
Nirvis about six months before the whole idea is history, unless
somebody
starts giving out information about how all this stuff works together.
