The Tivo will suport the changing of the Direct Tv Box. Direct Tivo is now available as well. Direct Tivo and Direct TV in one box. I dont know the price, but it is avalable now or real soon. The Tivo has a good technical following and lots of little tricks if you want to play with the Linux interface.
