Quite the contrary; S-Link port 0 was the answer; I had connected to port 3, which I dimly recall some mention having been made about its being different from ports 0-2. What threw me off was that CDJ works just fine over port 3.

The scripting works fine as well; Now eagerly awaiting a script interface with CDJ. Perhaps via some extnsion to the device file?

BTW, the repeating-last-command syndrome appears to be a 'feature' in the 270 firmware related to the format of the last command sent. I unplugged the S-Link cable, but the display on the 270 was still madly repeating.
