Right, and you compare the next CD's vol offset with the current one to figure out how many volume clicks you need, but this may lead to the "drift" issue Colby mentioned.

To avoid this, you could send it a bunch of vol-'s after a disc to ensure the volume level bottoms out, and then vol+ to the CD level. And add in a "master volume" in CDJ so you don't always have to listen to a CD at the same volume.

I guess this would probably take long enough in most cases with multiple CD changers that you'd hear the song while it was doing this, but you wouldn't with a single changer.
